A Prayer for the People of Our Land

Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before You to claim Your promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14 AMPC: “If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

We humble ourselves before you in prayer. We seek You, and we crave Your presence. We are Your people, called by Your name, and we return to You—our first love. We turn from our wicked ways. And we thank You for hearing our prayers and moving by Your Spirit in our land.

Father, we pray that a spirit of humility and a passion to pray be fueled to even greater measure in Christians far and wide throughout the land. As the Body of Christ, we rise to bless our cities and our nation under You. Proverbs 11:11 says, “When right-living people bless the city, it flourishes; evil talk turns it into a ghost town in no time” (MSG). We thank You, dear Father, for healing our land and causing our nation to flourish once again.

We pray for rulers and governments to rule well so we the people can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.

Forgive us our sins of judging inappropriately, complaining about, and criticizing our neighbors. Touch our lips with coals from Your altar that we may pray prayers that avail much for all men and women everywhere. We pray the people of our land prosper in every way and continually enjoy good health just as their souls prosper in You.

Lord, we desire to release rivers of living water for the healing of the nations. In the name of Jesus, amen.
