Pray This Over Your Children
Father, we come before You to repair the wall and stand in the gap on behalf of our children.
We love You and desire to assume the responsibility of teaching them sound biblical doctrine. Day by day, we choose to instruct our children to keep the “way of the Lord” by doing what is right and just. Create in the heart of each child the desire to listen and learn, to pay attention so they may gain discernment. Together, as we memorize Your precepts, You will write them on our hearts to keep us from committing sin’s treason against You.
Holy Spirit, I ask You to give me creative ways for our family devotions. Help me teach my children the meaning of true repentance leading to salvation. We are here to take our children by the hand in wisdom’s way, pointing them to the path of integrity. You are faithful, and we pray their progress will have no limits when they walk in paths of righteousness. We ask You to give them the courage to receive correction no matter how hard it is to swallow, for wisdom will snap them back into place.
Our children are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. When they are older, may each one be victorious when they face those who oppose them. I pray they will have influence and honor to prevail on our behalf and for Your glory! No greater joy do I have than hearing that my children are living according to the truth.
We surround our children with faith in You and the power of Your Word. You will rescue them from every hidden trap of the enemy and protect them from false accusations and any deadly curse. Your massive arms are wrapped around them, protecting them wherever they may be. Wherever they go, Your hand will guide them; Your strength will empower them. It is impossible for them to disappear from You or to ask the darkness to hide them, for Your presence is everywhere, bringing light into their night.
Lord, Your name is so great and powerful! People everywhere see Your splendor. Your glorious majesty streams from the heavens, filling the earth with the fame of Your name! You have built a stronghold by the songs of babies. Strength rises up with the chorus of singing children. This kind of praise has the power to shut Satan’s mouth. Child-like worship will silence the madness of those who oppose You. We are in awe of Your majesty! We are in awe of such great power and might!
The enemy is turned back from my children in the name of Jesus! They increase in wisdom and in favor with God and man. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Father, Your Word declares that children are an inheritance from You and promises peace when they are taught in Your ways. We dedicate ____________to You today, that he/she may be raised as You would desire and will follow the path You would choose. As we pray Your Word, it goes out and will not return unto You void but will accomplish what it says it will do.
Heavenly Father, as parents we choose to train in the way he/she should go, trusting in the promise that he/she will not depart from Your ways but will grow and prosper in them. We choose to parent according to Your Word, turning the care and burden of raising him/ her over to You. Father, we stand together and ask You to help us during trying experiences to raise them up with loving discipline and counsel that will bring the revelation of Jesus our Lord before them. We pray that we will not exasperate. We choose to teach our children to do all to the glory of God. Your grace is sufficient to overcome my mistakes as a parent.
I ask You to create within the heart of my child, a desire to be obedient and honor both his/her parents, being able to accept the abundant promises of Your Word of long life and prosperity. You have not given him/her a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and a sound mind. I pray that will choose to walk in pathways of righteousness, unafraid to honor and keep Your Word. May our children keep trusting You and do what is right in Your eyes and fix their hearts on Your promises so they will be secure, feasting on Your faithfulness.
We surround them with faith in You and Your Word praying they will always stand convinced that You are the Almighty God. I am thankful that as grows, he/she will remember You and not pass by the opportunity of a relationship with Your Son, Jesus. Your great blessings will be upon for keeping Your ways. With hearts of thanksgiving, we believe that our children have become Your poetry, re-created in Christ Jesus to fulfill their destiny that You have given to each one. Even before______________was born You created and planned in advance for their destiny and the good works they will do to fulfill it!
