Antichrist Spirit in the Last Days: How the Enemy Uses Fatigue to Wear Down Your Faith

There is a strategy at work on earth today that aims to move God’s people from now faith into slow faith—from urgency into attrition.

Scripture exposes it clearly in reference to the antichrist that will come, but the spirit that is currently in operation:

He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law… (Daniel 7:25 NKJV)

The goal of the enemy is not merely to deceive the Church, but to drain her—to wear down her faith until she accepts delay as divine, until she mistakes fatigue for wisdom and postponement for process. It is a subtle but devastating tactic designed to neutralize urgency and normalize delay.

This all began to unfold in full understanding to me in June 2025, while I was in Moulton, Alabama. My pastor was ministering and began to speak briefly about this very thing. Suddenly, during the altar time, the power of God overwhelmed me. I fell to the floor—no one touched me—and in that moment, the Holy Ghost, the greatest Teacher, began to put it all together. Revelation came like a rushing stream. What I had discerned for years in part, He began to reveal in fullness: the war against time and now faith is one of the enemy’s most dangerous strategies in this final hour.

God Appoints the Times — Hell Attempts to Alter Them

Daniel 2:21 (NKJV) declares, “He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings.” God alone holds dominion over time. He sets the boundaries, the seasons, and the appointments of heaven. When He speaks, now is not a suggestion—it’s an assignment.

But in Daniel 7:25, the prophet reveals the counterfeit intention of hell itself: the characteristics of the antichrist spirit will “intend to change times and law.” Notice the contrast: God changes times by His authority, but the enemy intends to change them through deception. The adversary cannot rewrite divine timing, but he can seduce the saints into missing it.

That’s the subtle work of the antichrist spirit—to make the Church believe she has more time than she really does. To convince intercessors to rest when they should run. To make watchmen close their eyes just before dawn. To wear down conviction until now faith becomes next faith.

The phrase “wear out” in Daniel 7:25 literally means “to afflict continually, to wear down mentally.” It describes a steady erosion, not a sudden assault. It’s not a single blow that knocks out strength—it’s a slow grind that dulls your expectation.

The War on Due Season

Paul exposes this same demonic mechanism in Galatians 6:

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. …And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart (Galatians 6:7,9 NKJV)

The Spirit begins with a warning: “Do not be deceived.” Deception always precedes weariness. It begins with the lie that “maybe the Word isn’t working.” Once that seed of doubt enters, fatigue follows. When the mind grows tired, the heart loses its grip—and the moment of due season slips through the fingers of faith.

Paul’s sequence is divine insight:

  • Deception comes first: “Do not be deceived…”

  • Weariness follows: “Let us not grow weary…”

  • Delay manifests: “If we do not lose heart, we shall reap…”

The strategy of the enemy has never changed. If he cannot stop your sowing, he will try to stretch your season of reaping until you faint at the threshold of breakthrough. He seeks to shift the perception of time so that what is now becomes later, and what was soon becomes someday.

But when God said, “Be not deceived,” He was declaring that delay is not natural to the believer’s life. Delay is a distortion. Due season is your covenant right. The blood of Jesus purchased not only redemption from sin but restoration of timing—He redeems your NOW season!

The Antichrist Spirit — The Architect of Delay

John speaks directly to the source of this warfare:

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come… (1 John 2:18 NKJV)

The spirit of antichrist is not only confined to a future man who will appear in the tribulation—it is a present spirit of seduction. The word antichristos means “against” or “instead of ” the Anointed One. Its operation is always anti-anointing. Where the Spirit brings immediacy, the antichrist brings postponement. Where the Spirit says now, the antichrist says later.

The apostle John continues:

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. …The anointing which you have received from Him abides in you… (1 John 2:20,27 NKJV).

That word anointing (chrisma) means “the unction, the living flow of divine enablement.” It is the very presence of God that breaks deception and exposes delay. It doesn’t just reveal truth, it empowers obedience.

The antichrist spirit seeks to change times by dulling spiritual sensitivity, but the anointing keeps believers synchronized with heaven’s calendar! The more you abide in the anointing, the less you are subject to delay. You begin to discern properly the now moments, and what others call “timing” becomes your lifestyle of immediacy.

Seducing Spirits and the Slow Drift of Delay

The apostle Paul warns in 1 Timothy 4:1 (NKJV), “The Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving [seducing] spirits and doctrines of demons.” These seducing spirits will certainly come with rebellion—but they often manifest initially with reasoning. They replace passion with procedure and urgency with explanation. They preach patience in places where God demands participation. They take the edge off expectation until obedience becomes optional.

These spirits whisper in the minds of weary saints:

  • “You’ve prayed enough for this.”

  • “You’ve waited long enough.”

  • “Maybe it’s not your season.”

But when you carry the anointing, you discern that those words are not comforting—they are compromising.

The spirit of antichrist seeks to wear you down; the anointing strengthens you to stand up. Delay thrives where the oil is low, but where the oil is full, the yoke breaks. The anointing destroys the power of delay.

It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil (Isaiah 10:27 NKJV).

The Enemy Works to Wear You Down By:

  1. Distraction. He fills your days with noise, demands, and duties—anything to scatter your focus from the Word that gives faith its fire.

  2. Cynicism. He labels expectation as naivety and calls passivity maturity. He convinces you that caution is wisdom and urgency is extremism.

  3. Religious Delay. He wraps unbelief in pious language. “In God’s timing” becomes an excuse for inactivity. Like Martha, we confess truth but postpone its power: “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”

But Jesus still answers delay with His presence: “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25). He doesn’t speak in the future tense—He speaks in the eternal present.

The Anointing Overcomes by Giving:

  1. Knowledge. You have an anointing…and you know.” The anointing reveals when the enemy has attempted to shift your time frame. You begin to sense that what you called “waiting” is actually warfare.

  2. Boldness. The anointing reignites bold confession. It puts iron back in your declarations and passion back in your prayers.

  3. Continuance. The anointing renews strength for endurance. You stop striving and start abiding. You don’t burn out—you burn on.

This is how the awakened Church resists the slow decay of delay. The Spirit of God within becomes the pacesetter of destiny. He keeps the heart aflame and the steps aligned!
