32 Prophetic Scriptures Every Mom Should Speak Over Her Child for Destiny, Protection & Blessings
Excerpted from Breakthrough Prayers for Moms.
The power and influence of a woman is a mighty force in God’s plan for mankind, so it’s vital to see yourself as God sees you.
Your Father-God says you are a “woman of strength and mighty valor,” and your worth is “far above rubies.” When you follow God’s plan, your “sons and daughters will arise in one accord to extol your virtues (Proverbs 31:10,20 TPT, KJV).
How miraculous that He knew you before the beginning of time and chose you for kingdom plans and purposes. He spoke the universe into existence with the powerful force of words just as He enables you to speak words that will shape your destiny and the destinies of your children.
You, dear mom, have the delight of encouraging your children to rise to the level of their God-given potential where life for them and you is an adventure and a pathway that will shine brighter and brighter. You are blessed with the opportunity to care for your children who are special gifts to you from your heavenly Father.
From our hearts, my daughter, Lynn, and I write this book filled with prayers to equip and empower you with the knowledge, understanding, and wisdom to nourish and nurture your children day by day in the ways of God. There will be times of disappointment, and even heartache at times. But as you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, God will give you the wisdom you need to be the mother your children need. Be patient with yourself!
As you pray, you will meet with the Creator in greater measure who made human beings to govern the earth (Gen. 1:26-28). More specifically, God chose you to be the mother of your children for His kingdom purposes. Your sons or daughters have a divine destiny upon them, and you are highly blessed and favored to care for them and train them up in the way they are to go.
How imperative it is that you remain connected to your Source because He knows the future of each child that He knit together in the womb. Your child was born for such a time as this, and the particular destiny upon your child is one that only he or she can fulfill. Every child is born for a kingdom purpose, and it is your responsibility as a parent to help your children find their purpose and walk in it throughout their lives. “But how can I do this?” you may ask. You affect their future destinies through your prayers and by the words you speak about them and to them!
On the pages that follow, you will find prayers that will keep your ear tuned to the Holy Spirit who lives in you. He is your Teacher, Counselor, and Guide. Keep in mind that, like you, your child is a spirit, who has a soul, and lives in a body; and for this reason, I encourage you to read scripture together often and play worship and praise music frequently. In this way, the Word of God is imprinted on the minds and hearts of everyone in your household. I remember rocking a grandson to sleep. Before he could talk, he hummed the song I sang to him, “Peace, peace, wonderful peace. Coming down from the Father above.” Let us invest and impart a love for God and a reliance upon Him to our young ones from an early age. Let us align our words with God’s, for He writes truth on the tablets of their hearts!
As you pray, the Holy Spirit will help you, give you divine revelation, and show you things to come for their lives. How do I know? I’ve experienced this, and what God did for me, He will do for you! You are who God says you are, and you can do all things through Him who loves and strengthens you!
As you pray the will of God into your child’s future, you will experience the confidence and assurance that your prayers will be manifested in the life of your child because God watches over His Word to perform it that He may be glorified (Jer. 1:12).
Your Father also wants you to see yourself as He sees you and parent your child with the same love and care as He parents you. As He is, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17). It is important that you know and understand how God sees you so that you can live your life to its fullest and impart the same to your children. I encourage you to repeat the following declarations, for as you believe and declare them, so you will become them and so will your children.
