Peace: God’s Gift of Love to You

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1).

Wealthy people usually write out a will before they die.

They make a list of their earthly possessions and tell their heirs what they are to receive. In a sense,

that’s what Jesus did just hours before He went to the cross. He told His beloved disciples what they would receive from Him after He left the earth.

Knowing that rough times were ahead for them, this was among the last things He said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you” (John 14:27).

It always amazes me to think about what else Jesus could have said at that moment. For instance, He could have talked exclusively about love. After all, everyone needs love, and plenty of it, and He is love. Right then, Jesus chose a different emphasis. He said, “You guys will have to walk in peace in order to make it. So, I’m giving you My peace.”

Why did Jesus consider peace such a major issue?

Peace is the necessary ingredient that sustains us through every crisis. It makes the difference between success and failure in every area of our life. Without peace, human beings are miserable. When others are upset with us—especially those who hold positions of authority in our lives or our loved ones—we’re a mess without peace.

That’s the reason in your relationship with God, peace must be the starting point.

God created you for peace. He designed you to function in peace. For you to have perfect harmony with Him that produces peace, understand that He is not upset, angry, or mad at you. You have to know that the Blood of Jesus is saying, “You have peace with the Father!”

Jesus, having made peace through the Blood of His cross, has reconciled you to God (Colossians 1:20). You and your Father are on talking terms now. There is no strife or division between the two of you. Because you are justified by faith in Jesus’ Blood, you’ve become an heir of the “Covenant of Peace” (Hebrews 13:20).

Once you realize that you and God are at peace, you begin to enjoy the good life!

Your soul is nourished and flourishes as you rejoice in His favor. Fear loses its grip, and you’re comforted. You can have new boldness, confidence, and courage because you know that your Heavenly Father isn’t upset with you! Everything Jesus has provided for you hinges on this peace. It is so central to your salvation experience that God wove peace in His very Name. As the prophet Isaiah said,

His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).

Think of it—the everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace are the same! Your Father is peace personified. You and He can enjoy a wonderful relationship. Peace is His gift of love to you. All you have to do is receive it. Every time you allow the Blood of Jesus to speak to you and for you, peace will come.

Remember when the storms of life are raging and the waves are about to take your boat down, this is when you need to overcome the world’s system and defeat the devil with peace. Agree with the Blood.

Proclaim peace in the Name of Jesus, and the “God of peace” shall bruise satan under your feet (Romans 16:20).

Prayer and Confession

Heavenly Father, I am so glad to know that You are not angry with me. I’m so grateful that Jesus has made it possible for You and me to be in harmony. What a joy it is to be able to talk to You and have a good relationship with You! Thank You, Jesus, because of the power of Your Blood there is no strife between the Father and me. I allow Your Blood to speak to me, for me, and to stop the raging storms and make peace for me in the midst of any situation.

Jesus, because of Your Blood, I have a Covenant of Peace. I agree with what You did. Now I can hear your Blood speaking peace, peace, peace to me. I trust You with my life. I rejoice today knowing that You have overcome satan by Your Blood and bruised his head for me so that I can live in continual peace.

Thank You, Father. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for giving me revelation of how I can continually live my life in Your peace in Jesus’ Name.

Proclaim and Decree

I am full of peace continually because the “Prince of Peace” lives inside of me.
