Prophetic Prayers: Secrets to Prophesying God’s Will Over Your Situation

Anyone who is willing and eager to know the things of the Lord can be prophetic.

Just the fact that we have the Holy Spirit inside us and we’re born again means we can be prophetic as we yield to what He wants to show us. Jesus said the Holy Spirit of Truth would reveal, unveil, transmit, and disclose things concerning the future (John 16:13-15). He desires you to know more as well as the whole body of Christ.

Same Seed, Difference Harvest

The ones along the path are those who have the Word sown [in their hearts], but when they hear, Satan comes at once and [by force] takes away the message which is sown in them. And in the same way the ones sown upon stony ground are those who, when they hear the Word, at once receive and accept and welcome it with joy; and they have no real root in themselves, and so they endure for a little while; then when trouble or persecution arises on account of the Word, they immediately are offended (become displeased, indignant, resentful) and they stumble and fall away.

And the ones sown among the thorns are others who hear the Word; then the cares and anxieties of the world and distractions of the age, and the pleasure and delight and false glamour and deceitfulness of riches, and the craving and passionate desire for other things creep in and choke and suffocate the Word, and it becomes fruitless.

And those sown on the good (well-adapted) soil are the ones who hear the Word and receive and accept and welcome it and bear fruit—some thirty times as much as was sown, some sixty times as much, and some [even] a hundred times as much (Mark 4:15-20 AMPC).

In Luke 8, Jesus said His Word is like a seed that must be spoken to produce. In Mark 4 above, He showed us how the Word of God works in various types of soil. It’s the same seed, which is God’s incorruptible Word. It always produces. He showed us the soil made the difference in how much harvest that seed could produce.

We need to ask ourselves, what kind of soil do I have? The cares of this world and being busy have been very prevalent in our times.

For decades people were satisfied with “church as usual” and almost drawn back from the supernatural. God sent us wake-up calls through the years, but we seemed to go back to sleep. Now we are faced with the devil endeavoring to take over the world when it is not time.

The amount of desire, hunger, and thirst for the Lord opens us up to receive His Word to see and know things to be prepared for what is ahead.

One weapon or tool the Lord uses mightily to change things is prophetic prayer. Our desire to spend quality time with the Lord is born out of our willingness to allow the Lord to help us put the unimportant away and face reality with faith in His Word. No more “whatever will be, will be” because times have changed, and we must deal with it accordingly.

Are you ready to pray and decree prophecies with the same authority and power as when the prophets prophesied those words? It’s a battle, but the Lord has given you everything you need to succeed.

We always win and never lose, and the devil always loses and never wins.

But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere (2 Corinthians 2:14 AMPC).

Knowing the unknown or hidden things is not really what it sounds like. It is very real and plain once it’s made known to us. In this natural world we live in what we can see but the unseen spirit realm reveals things we don’t see in the natural. Once we see things from the spiritual side, then I believe we really “see.”

Giving Spiritual Supply

This book is not about you or me becoming a prophet or holding that office. It’s about how to give a spiritual supply through prophetic prayer for prophets to decree their prophecies for us to get on the front lines now! To do that more effectively, we must stay connected in the spirit realm.

The more we understand the office of a prophet, their calling, positioning in the body of Christ, and their authority and power, the easier it will be to work with them in prayer and this present move of God. These principles are also beneficial in praying for all five-fold offices and people in general.

Prophets are the “voice” or “mouthpiece” of God (Amos 3:7-8). God shares words with them so they can prophesy those words with authority and power from their office as prophet.

When you look at some prophets in the Bible, you see what the Lord is expecting from you as you pray for them. By this I’m not saying you need to reach some kind of perfection or that you are a prophet. But you need to understand authority, submission, and a spiritual realm higher than a Sunday school-type mentality.

It’s an amazing way to live. You get to a place where you can see God everywhere and in everything. You could see a car tag number, but you think of a Scripture. Someone shares a story, and Scriptures start popping through your mind. You read the Old Testament and see Jesus all the way through it. Things, people, and situations take on whole new meanings because you see Jesus. It makes life so much easier because you are not caught off guard by the devil. In many cases, you can know situations and circum- stances that may occur ahead of time so you’re properly prepared. The prophets Paul, John, and Isaiah explained how they were called to go up higher into the Spirit and heavenly realms (2 Corinthians 12:1-7; Revelation 4:1; Isaiah 6). Their spiritual sensitivity was at a high level. Prophets are called to live their lives in such a way that the Lord can trust them with His words of authority. They value God and His Word so much that they have a holy fear and reverence of the Lord. To help prophets, you must grow into similar spiritual dimensions. This is the now move and outpouring of God! The apostolic move is coming into full manifestation as we join with the prophets!

Prophets’ words birth certain things at certain times to keep the Kingdom of God moving forward, altering, stopping, redirecting, and changing whatever is necessary to accomplish God’s will.

With every joint giving their supply, the whole body is more capable of doing the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:16). You are essential and valuable, especially right now. We must be like Isaiah and say to the Lord, “I’m here, send me. I will stand in the gap for this generation” (see Isaiah 6:8).

As we offer up specific prayers in unity, it gives a supply to prophets so they can speak and prophesy God’s words to prepare us for the future. Just like John the Baptist quoted Isaiah 40 and said he was there to make a straight path (or way) for the Lamb of God, we must prepare the way for the prophets. Isaiah prayed and preached that prophecy during his lifetime. Then John was able to birth that prophecy when he proclaimed Jesus as the Christ.

My team and I have been using this same passage plus many others to pray for today’s prophets as they prophesy about the outpouring of great Grace and things we must know about our nation and other nations worldwide. Prophets’ words birth certain things at certain times to keep the Kingdom of God moving forward, altering, stopping, redirecting, and changing whatever is necessary to accomplish God’s will.

Prophetic Intervention

When you study about the spirit of Elijah prophetically throughout the Bible, you can see the very power and ability of prophetic intervention. We need that kind of prophetic power at work now to shut demonic spirits down that try to rule and reign. The anti-Christ is working diligently to change times, laws, and seasons to his own agenda (Daniel 7:25). Those demonic spirits want to close the prophets’ mouths so they can tell their own lies and put everyone under their control.

God is raising up an immutable group of people who know how to pray prophetically for prophets and apostles. He is bringing His prophets and their prophecies to the forefront.

The prophets must speak and proclaim God’s will! We can help them by sending out supernaturally directed strategic prayers like a missile hitting the bull’s-eye! They have the authority to decree from the Court of Heaven like the prophet Nathan did when dealing with King David and his sin with Bathsheba, giving him the opportunity to repent (2 Samuel 12:1-14).

Daniel also prayed and prophesied based on Jeremiah’s prophecies from the Court of Heaven, which opened the way for Israel to return to their homeland.

Because God has certain times and seasons in which He works, we need to understand this present truth and revelation of how to work with prophets, apostles, and other ministers so we can take more territory quickly and easily.
