Activate Angels: The Secret of Voice Activation
The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire (Psalm 29:7).
Servants of fire are engaged specifically by the voice of God.
This matters very much for you. In any given scenario, angels are not moved by you. A person cannot move an angel. They are like police officers with orders—they only answer to headquarters. With a capacity to communicate and express emotion, these angelic beings certainly have a will. It is their will that caused many of them to follow Lucifer in rebellion against God. It is also their will that is most likely the reason the ones who stayed loyal to the Lord during that cosmic insurrection will refuse to break rank or allow even the slightest appearance of disloyalty to God. Consider the angel who was with John in the Book of Revelation. At one point, John fell down to worship the angel and was interrupted by the messenger starkly protesting, “See that you do not do that!”
Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Revelation 19:9-10).
Why would this angel respond with such urgency? Almost as if to say before the Lord, “You see, my Lord, I am nothing like those wicked angels who rebelled against You! I will have none of it! Nothing to do with even the slightest appearance or temptation of being worshiped.” When looking at this moment regarding the angel and John, we must come to the realization that this angel had not only been loyal to the God of the universe from the beginning, but he witnessed the demise and casting out of those who sided with Lucifer. He was also keenly aware of what will happen to those who participated in that angelic uprising. We will go into that in greater detail in the pages ahead.
By stating, “See that you do not do that!” this servant of fire was rejecting any notion both in the eyes of the Lord and for himself. When examining this instance, it is safe to assume all angels who remained with the Lord are more convinced than ever that they chose wisely. Not only did they know to stand with the Lord and follow Michael into battle against those renegades, but they know what happened to so many of their once brothers who violated the purposes of God. Some are in gloomy dungeons, some are bound in geographic locations, and some are still wandering about, yet will never see the glory of God from the right side of things ever again. Ultimately, the final destination of all rebellious angels, no matter their rank or function, will be the lake of fire. Smoke and torment for all eternity await these wicked ones.
The Secret of Voice Activation
Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word. Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, you ministers of His, who do His pleasure. Bless the Lord, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul! (Psalm 103:20-22)
There is a secret that needs to be understood. It might come as a surprise, but angels don’t listen to the voice of man—they listen to the voice of God! Psalm 29:7 says, “The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.” This is a reference to angels standing in rank and file; armies of Heaven standing together are suddenly put into order and assigned positions by the voice of God. When God speaks, angels react! In part, this is because it is possible that they were forged right out of God Himself. I only speculate this as one of the designations of God, that He is a consuming fire. Angels are flames of fire. It could be that angels are simply flames taken straight out of the fire of God.
In the same way, God made man out of the dirt, and from man came a rib, which was a woman. This is the precedent for the possibility that the Lord made the angels right out of Himself. After all, they are magnificent; they are awe-inspiring entities. The heart of God is always one of family. He created angels before He created Adam and Eve. According to Job 38:7, the sons of God were shouting for joy at the creation of all things. Just as everything created by the voice of God responds to His voice, so do the angels. They are created beings, and they respond to His voice and His voice alone. Jesus said He was capable of calling on twelve legions of angels and would have been able to destroy the world many times over. What a tremendous ability. Yet, we must remember, according to His own words, “I AM,” Jesus is also the voice of God. Angels will do whatever He says they should do.
How does this apply to you? When you speak the written Word of God, angels stand at attention. Angels have a responsibility and are created to respond to His voice. When you speak, declare, pray, worship, or use any other utterance that utilizes the verbalizing of God’s written Word spoken through your voice, angels are activated.
Angels and Your Emotions
Importantly, it must be known that the servants of fire do not respond to pleading, they do not respond to emotions, nor do they respond to your special requests directed at them. Angels are servants of fire who are legally engaged by the spoken Word of God. These fiery ones would be denying the very fabric of their creation to defy or deny the voice of God. This might be a difficult thing for many to receive, as they believe it is perfectly natural to “cry out” or even plead with God and even angels to accomplish something they desperately want to see happen. Although this is not the correct way to make your requests known, it is understandable, as people have legitimate emotions and will utilize them when requesting something from the Lord. However, frustration and even great disappointment can be the result of not knowing the proper way to engage the servants of fire. Nothing motivates us like results do, and God wants you to experience results even more than you do! We will be dealing with getting the highest results in prayer in greater detail in the pages ahead.
Weaponized Agreement
Utilizing the prayer of agreement is a powerful force. It is what released Peter from prison in Acts. Could it be that the reason we have not seen such profound miracle deliverances is due to brothers and sisters not praying in agreement? It is almost humorous the way the prayer group responded when Peter was actually at their door having been delivered! They scolded Rhoda, the young girl who told them he was there. Their prayers were so effective in agreement that they didn’t even believe the outcome or, at the very least, were not expecting the outcome they experienced! Peter was delivered from an impossible scenario!
Agreement was a mighty element when praying for Peter. They were together, which means this prayer group was calling out on behalf of Peter, and it was certainly the right combination to engage an angel. Psalm 91:11-12 says, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.” Right there in that jail cell, Peter had both of these things happen to him. Angelic hands were activated, and the charge concerning Peter was in motion.
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church (Acts 12:5).
And when Herod was about to bring him out, that night Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, “Arise quickly!” And his chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, “Gird yourself and tie on your sandals”; and so he did. And he said to him, “Put on your garment and follow me.” So he went out and followed him, and did not know that what was done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision. When they were past the first and the second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads to the city, which opened to them of its own accord; and they went out and went down one street, and immediately the angel departed from him.
And when Peter had come to himself, he said, “Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel, and has delivered me from the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the Jewish people.” So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying (Acts 12:6-12).
And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer. When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.” Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished (Acts 12:13-16).
Notice how this angel being activated through prayer (especially the prayer of agreement) was empowered to affect natural things— even objects. So evidently seen in Acts 12 is the physical activity of angels when prayer is involved. Here are the three points of interest we learn from the angel who delivered Peter from custody:
The angel specifically struck Peter on the side.
This angel apparently caused the chains to fall off Peter’s hands.
Likely at the hand of this angel, the gates opened of their own accord.
Interestingly, in Acts 16 there is another account of a jail experience involving deliverance. Personally, I am of the persuasion that an angel or angels shook the ground of the prison. Psalm 91:11-12 says, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.” Notice that the angels have charge over us to keep us in all our ways. This references their ability to intervene at any moment when we are walking with the Lord! Specifically, it mentions “their hands.” Angels take you up in their hands. Natural scenarios can be touched, moved, or even changed lightly or forcefully by the manipulation of angelic hands. Have you ever wondered how angels can move things? I have, but here we see straight from the Word of God that they do so with their hands!
