Authorize Angels with These Scriptural Prayers

My family and I use these notes on prayers that assemble angels often when we pray together.

According to the Word of God, how a person prays has the potential to greatly unlock angelic activity. It is my desire to see you thrive with assistance from the armies of Heaven bringing aid, protection, and provision, and working on your behalf regarding things you are not even aware of.

Because of our covenant with God the Father through the blood of Jesus, we have the wonderful privilege to enforce His will on this Earth. One of the ways we do so is to pray His Word. If you ever won- der what the will of God is, just pray out His Word over any situation, and you will know what His will is concerning the matter at hand.

For example, when facing any type of difficulty, pray out John 10:10, which says, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

You could pray this way, “Lord, I know the difficulty I’m facing is not from You, for it is the enemy who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I see in Your Word that You have come to give me life, and to give it more abundantly. So right now in Jesus’ name, I agree with Your Word over me for abundant life! By faith, I receive an abundance of life, and the God quality of life right now in the name of Jesus!”

When facing challenges regarding the world around you and all the pressures of society, you could read this scripture and pray.

Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father (Galatians 1:4).

Here is a prayer to pray with this scripture:

Lord, I thank You that it is Your will that I will be delivered from this present evil age. So right now, I line up with Your will for my life and declare deliverance from every evil thing in this present time. In Jesus’ mighty name!

You can go on praying by declaring:

Since it is Your will that I be delivered from this present evil age, then I declare all emotional oppression must go! I declare all anxiety must leave me now! I receive everything that is the opposite of this present evil age. I receive favor, blessing, increase, health, good family, right relationships, purpose, and any other thing that lines up with the goodness of God.

Avoiding Vain Repetitions

And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him (Matthew 6:7-8).

It is important to get past religious praying. One of the main culprits is vain repetitions. This type of praying is simply a religious form of praying that involves repetition and using a lot of words. Jesus referred to vain repetition, comparing it to how heathens pray. The statement Jesus made, “they think they will be heard for their many words,” is basically saying that some people put more faith in the length of their prayers rather than in God.

Religion has everything to do with God—but our hearts. Let me explain. Religion is doing all the right things, looking the part, acting the part, or even doing everything right in form and for the eyes of everyone else. However, it is not truly connected to God. Why? Because religion is a human doing and trying to achieve something to please God. Religion is not a heart conversion; it is an outward act without a connection on the inside. Our heart refers to the soulish arena and comprises our mind, will, and emotions. Without having a true heart connection to God by His Word, we are practicing religion, not a relationship. For years I have made the statement that religion has everything to do with God—but our hearts. The same could be said about prayer. Without hearts full of faith and a connection to the Lord, prayer can also become a formality, which counteracts actual results.

Here is an example: going back to Matthew 6:8, Jesus said, “Do not be like them.” In context, He had just finished speaking about the Pharisees and giving the example of how they would pray loudly to be seen by men, along with the other hypocritical ways they would parade themselves for religious applause. Vain repetition is not faith-filled, relationship-based praying; rather, it is badgering and transactional. Our God is not a head God, He is a heart God. Religion and all other forms of praying to gain results without God’s prescription are in themselves vain. God wants your heart and has given us a biblical understanding to know how we ought to pray so that it is effective. However, the heart alone is not enough either. The world we live in has spiritual laws in motion, and the purpose of knowing how to pray is for meeting the requirements for abiding by spiritual laws. Another way of saying this would be that there are protocols for effectiveness.

There are four types of prayers as listed in 1 Timothy 2:1:

  1. Supplications

  2. Prayers

  3. Intercessions

  4. Giving thanks

Another area that should be mentioned is the area of speaking to obstacles.

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses” (Mark 11:22-26).

Jesus said:

  1. Have faith in God.

  2. Speak to the mountain or issue you are facing.

  3. Do not doubt but believe.

  4. You will have what you say!

  5. Finally, walk in forgiveness toward everyone.

What weapons Jesus told us about! He wants us to exercise these for effective living.

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16).

The righteous man should be armed with effective praying. Effective means they know how to pray properly, but notice it says fervently. As we learned in Chapter One, this word fervently means to put forth power, to be at work, or be self-operative. When you know how to pray and exercise it fervently, you will accomplish much!

Scriptural Prayers That Authorize Angels

Now, the main purpose of this section is to pray scriptures that authorize and release angelic activity God’s way, not man’s way. Below is a list of scriptures I use in my prayer life. After several days of reading these and praying them out, an angelic encounter took place with my wife and me in our home. I listed these as it has been a source of effectiveness in our lives, and it is our prayer that it will be in yours.

The Realm of the Unseen Is Greater

I share the below scriptures to remind you that the realm of the unseen is powerful. Much like Elisha’s servant, it is easy to get our eyes on the natural world, but if we could see what was happening behind the veil, I believe the response would be much like the servant! Keep this in mind as we step into releasing the armies of Heaven through prayer.

And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army, surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord, and said, “Strike this people, I pray, with blindness.” And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha (2 Kings 6:15-18).

Scriptural Declarations

And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire” (Hebrews 1:7).

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14)

Lord, I thank You that You make Your angels spirits and ministering flames of fire for my sake and the sake of my loved ones.

The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire (Psalm 29:7).

I thank You, Lord, that when I speak any promise from Your Word (out loud) Your flames of fire are divided into ranks for assignment.

Declare a scripture promise: ____________________________

Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His word, heeding the voice of His word. Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, you ministers of His, who do His pleasure. Bless the Lord, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul! (Psalm 103:20-22)

Lord, I thank You that Your Word is alive and active in me and that I can speak Your Word and the angels will heed the voice of Your Word and respond.

Thank You that Your angels do Your pleasure for my sake and my family and that it pleases You when we speak the Word to activate angels.

Right now, in Jesus’ name, I declare (insert your personal prayer) that Your servants of fire heed it and do Your pleasure over my life!

Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant” (Psalm 35:27).

Thank You, Lord, that according to Psalm 103:21 angels do Your pleasure. Psalm 35:27 says You have pleasure in my prosperity. So right now, in Jesus’ name, I agree with the prosperity of God over my life and that angels are being sent out to fulfill Your pleasure over me.

Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared (Exodus 23:20).

Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep and guard you on the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared (Exodus 23:20 AMPC).

This Scripture is the release of angelic preparation of where you are currently and where you are headed. Use this when praying over your life and future plans, but also use it in prayers about moving to new locations, trips, or ventures.

Thank You, Lord, that You have placed an angel before me to keep and guard me on my way to the place that You have prepared for me.

Then the Lord sent an angel who cut down every mighty man of valor, leader, and captain in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned shamefaced to his own land. And when he had gone into the temple of his god, some of his own offspring struck him down with the sword there (2 Chronicles 32:21).

This is a powerful prayer scripture to use regarding stopping the attacks of the enemy over any particular situation.

Lord, I call forth Your angels to cut down every assignment, influence, or evil persuasion against You that is attacking my life. That evil plans would be cut down, the plans of darkness would fail, and that the thing fighting against me would be turned away shamefaced and sent back to where it came from.

The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them (Psalm 34:7).

This is a prayer for the divine angelic protection of those who fear the Lord.

Lord, I thank You that the angel of the Lord is encamping around me and my family and that they deliver us from all our adversaries.

For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone (Psalm 91:11-12).

This scripture has three points of angelic help attached to it.

  1. Angels taking charge over you—this means they have permission and the responsibility to intervene in circumstances much like a person would reach over and grab a steering wheel to correct a car.

  2. Keep you—this means they are present at all times and continue watching over you to make sure nothing goes wrong with you.

  3. They have permission to reach out with their hands—a reference to physically altering a circumstance to rescue or alter something for your benefit. Similar to the time Peter had shackles removed from his hands and feet, or the gates to the prison opened by themselves and Peter walked out. This was the doing of angelic hands.
